Southwest Airlines’ Baggage Policy is said to be a customer-friendly air policy. As per this baggage policy, an air traveler can carry two bags aboard the aircraft free of cost, subject to the condition that each bag does not weigh more than 50 lbs (23 kg) and protrude to a length of up to 62 inches (L+W+H). It also permits bringing one personal item, e.g., purse or laptop bag, in addition to one carry-on without paying an additional fee. The Southwest Airlines Baggage Policy charges for overweight or oversized items, and the 100 lb bags are not allowed. For example, some special items like sporting equipment can have specific policies. Such a liberal policy is the darling of many low-cost travelers at Southwest. But it’s worth checking the most recent baggage regulations prior to travel.
